Frequently Asked Questions

The Blair Volleyball Club Q&A

The Blair Volleyball Club is a developmental program that helps players build skills while participating in organized practices and tournaments. Players compete against other area teams in tournaments sanctioned by the Great Plains Region.

Who can join the Blair Volleyball Club?
The club is open to all athletes in 3rd–12th grade from Blair and the surrounding communities.

How are teams formed?
Teams are generally organized by grade level (not birth year) to keep things simple for players and parents.
➡️ Depending on talent level and the number of players, grades/ages may be combined to form teams.

  • 3rd–5th Grade (11u and under)– Practice once per week, play in 3–4 tournaments, and run a shorter season from December–February. Tournaments are held Saturday or Sunday mornings, usually 8:00 AM–12:00 PM.

  • 6th–12th Grade (12u -18u) – Practice twice per week, play in 4–5 tournaments, and run a full season from December–March. Tournaments are typically full-day events, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM, on Sundays (with an occasional Saturday).

Can players do multiple sports?
Yes! We know kids in a small town are often in multiple activities, and we encourage it. Coaches will work with you on conflicts, but please communicate schedules in advance. Players aren’t punished for excused absences (such as another activity or illness), though consistent attendance will help with skill development and may affect playing time.

How much does it cost?

  • 3rd–5th Grade: $300 ($350 if you want/need a ball and bag)

  • 6th–12th Grade: $600

Fees cover uniforms, practice shirts, tournament fees, gym rentals, equipment, insurance, admin costs, and coaching fees.

➡️ Please note: No refunds are given once teams are formed, as expenses are committed at that point.

Additionally, 6th–12th grade players must pay a Great Plains Region registration fee through www.gpvb.org
